DTU Nanolab offers numerous flexible methods of cooperation to meet diverse demands. Users can access the facilities themselves through a frame contract. Commercial partners may also request quotes for specific fabrication or service work.

Access to labmanager

LabManager

LabManager is our laboratory information management system for our registered users, and it is used for keeping track of tools, bookings, manuals, people competencies etc. It is a system designed to support the day to day operation of the tools, facility and the people working in the labs.

LabAdviser

LabAdviser is a Wiki based knowledge retention system for Nanolab's registered users, where processes, process flows and guides are stored. LabAdviser is most often used when planning process flows or when there is a need to understand matters a bit deeper.

PhD defence by William Bang Lomholdt

On Friday, April 26th, 2024, William Bang Lomholdt is scheduled to defend his PhD thesis: "Quantifying Interpretability and Structural Differences in Atomic Resolution Electron Microscopy Images". In his thesis, William Bang Lomholdt suggests novel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based models for quantifying the image quality of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images. The electron intensity (dose rate) is experimentally varied over a range for unravelling how this parameter affects the novel SNR models. Furthermore, the study includes a novel approach of detecting dynamic events and structural changes over time and dose rate in the study of the sample of interest. In the broader context, these approaches aid in determining thresholds for use of AI in the automated analysis of electron microscopy.

PhD Defence by Mads Søndergaard Larsen

Mads Søndergaard Larsen will defend his PhD thesis. In this thesis, Mads Søndergaard Larsen explores combining liquid phase transmission electron microscopy (LPTEM) with electron holography (EH) to create LPTEH. He demonstrates LPTEH’s ability to measure the mean inner potential (MIP) of the liquid itself and how it reflects a high energy electron refractometer, and how this property can be used further to analyze on single particles and their coating in liquids. Additionally, LPTEH is integrated with electrochemistry techniques to study complex electrochemical processes. The study also investigates the impact of the electron beam on membrane properties in LPTEM experiments. Overall, the research aims to push the boundaries of electrochemistry with LPTEH while emphasizing the importance of understanding LPTEM fundamentals.

Follow our newest building projects

New cleanroom

Nanolab Phase 4

DTU is constructing building B346A with new state-of-the-art research facilities. DTU Nanolab will expand its facilities with an approximately 700 m2 ISO4 cleanroom, designed to house the latest generation of nanofabrication equipment. This will give collaboration partners, research projects and new initiatives access to the unique facilities needed in Northern Europe.
